Children's Book Theatre: Jetsons Coloring Book, Part 1!

Time for a new entry in "Children's Book Theatre," and it's also time for a coloring book in the rotation!

This time around, it's the Jetsons, and the cover scene does not appear in the book as presented! I do think Jane is enjoying herself too much over George's being pulled over, however...

As you can see, this was published in 1962, and was drawn by Herb Rayburn and William Lorencz... those names sound vaguely familiar to me, perhaps I read them in either Hanna or Barbera's autobiographies! Anyway, on to the story -- and there actually is a story, one that I believe was based on an episode of the TV series! Just a few pages missing in this book, but I think you'll be able to follow anyway.

We'll leave George in his predicament here, as well as keep you guessing (maybe) on which episode this is based on!

  1. lets see.. Herb Rayburn was the artist on the newspaper strip 'Bronc Saddler, the Rodeo King', but that only lasted about a year and then he went to do a lot of art for children's books..
William Lorencz, however, was much more intresting in a way. He worked as a Background artist on a fair about of Cartoons, including ones for H-B And stuff like 'The Secret of NIMH', 'An American Tail' & 'Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers' and it seams he is still active. He also worked on stuff like a Bugs Bunny 'Paint and Color' book. Seams to have done the art for a number of Golden Books based on Cartoons too..
