This week's installments require a bit of explaining. The Peter Austin company of Canada produced their own competing toy line in the 1960s called "Magna-Slides," which were apparently available in Canada and the UK, but not in the USA (so far as I can tell). As my Give-A-Show collection has grown, I'd learned of these other similar toy lines, and started collecting some of them!
So far, the only Magna-Slides I've found have all featured Disney characters... and here's two of their stories, presented on multiple slide-strips each!
This time around, the By the 10's spotlight falls on Smash Comics, which featured Bozo the Robot, alternatively called Bozo the Iron Man. Bozo seems to me to be more like a suit of powered armor than a robot... anyway, above is issue 10's cover!
For those of you keeping track, this edition of Cool Stuff inaugurates the photos from Volume 10 of my files (which go to at least Volume 17 as I'm typing this, so there's no chance of running out for a while)!
First up, here's the 12" Doctor Kromedome action figure Mego put out, probably in response to Kenner taking so long to produce a villain for their Six Million Dollar Man line! More after the jump!
I am a former graphic designer turned medical assistant turned truck driver who's into comics, sf, tv, cartoons, monsters, oldies rock, and lots of other stuff.
