Cool Stuff!

Well, my birthday was three days ago, and I've probably already posted about it by the time you see this (hey, I'm writing this post on August 12, trying desperately to keep this thing being published continuously, you know?), but I think it's safe to say that none of the items here showed up as one of my birthday presents (mostly because I'd imagine my wife had no idea I'd be interested in any of these things!):

More Frankie, Jr. stuff and other stuff after the jump!

Frankenstein, Jr. Tell-A-Tale Book original art! I wish I had this book, because I do have the Frankie Jr. Big Little Book, and that also has an "Evil Twin" story, and it'd be fun to compare them!

Funky Phantom cup!

Harlem Globetrotters Comic Card Game! This was about the only one of these that didn't have Jack Kirby artwork!

hb_huck_pushpuppet
Huck Push Puppet toy!

hb_huck_rideon
I think this Huck ride-on toy is one of the odder Huck toys ever conceived... I mean, what's the connection here? Nobody rode on Huck like he was a horse in the cartoons, right?

hb_huck_yoyo
Huck yoyo!

hb_huckcharltonpuzzle
Huck puzzle, apparently produced by Charlton!

hb_huckleberry_wallplaque
Very cool Huck wall plaque!

  1. Kings Island was great in the '70s and early '80s. The last time I visited was 1983.

Regarding the integration of the Hanna-Barbera characters, in the '70s, many of the rides were named based on characters, for example,The Scooby-Doo Roller Coaster, which became The Beast, Jr. I don't remember the rest; there's probably a page somewhere that documents them all....

Thanks for a great post! Used to love watching Frankenstein, Jr, too!
