Book and Record: Wonder Woman - Cheetah on the Prowl!

Something a bit different this time around... This book and record set didn't have a record, but rather a cassette tape. I believe it was produced by Fisher-Price, and came with a hardback book. I've shared the Superman book here before, although not the cassette (which I don't have). While Power Records did at least one or two Wonder Woman albums, they only featured stories on the record, with no comic book accompanying them.

  1. Hi Jon,
"Cheetah on the Prowl" is a favorite of mine, as it features one of the few appearances of the second villainess by that name (Debi Domaine, the niece of the original). Her debut was in Wonder Woman #s 274-274 (Dec 1980- Jan 1981). She made one appearance between then and this story, in Justice League of America #s 195-197, and one after in Wonder Woman #323 before disappearing in the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Marston AFB in Wyoming is named after Wonder Woman's creator, who wrote as Charles Moulton. His real name was William Moulton Marston. The plane resembles the North American XB-70 Valkyrie, but that aircraft has been obsolete since 1969. The Air Force did have a Dyna-Soar program, but it ended even earlier (1963).

There are lots of dams in Wyoming, though this one doesn't match their descriptions very well. Since we don't see the water, I wonder if it's Anchor Dam?
    Thanks!
