Cover Redux Week, Day 5!
It's the final day of Covers Redux week here at Random Acts of Geekery!
A new cover was commissioned when Sgt. Fury #32 was reprinted in issue #93!
When X-Men #28 was reprinted in #76, a new cover was commissioned... To be honest, given the Banshee's costume in this issue, neither cover is all that great, even the reprint's all-new Gil Kane cover!
Incredible Hulk #155 was reprinted in Marvel Super-Heroes #103, with a new blurb created to replace the original one that was moved, and the blurb on the bottom was eliminated. The whole image has been enlarged (since the trade dress had changed by this time), and the original word balloons have been moved, possibly enlarged more. Note also the shadows have been increased, with the original grate or window removed entirely.
Anyone spot any changes when Amazing Spider-Man #147 was reprinted in Marvel Tales #124, aside from coloring and shifted down or reduced slightly?
Avengers #59's cover looks to have been reduced slightly and shifted to the right when it was reprinted in Marvel Super Action #20, with the blurb enlarged. Also the Zipatone in the circle's been eliminated (I'd guess it was messed up on the stat used).
When Silver Surfer #5 was reprinted in Fantasy Masterpieces (2nd series) #5, the whole cover was reduced quite a bit, with the blurb moved. Note that an entirely new building was drawn on the upper right side!
When Fantastic Four #109 was reprinted in Marvel's Greatest Comics #89, the entire image was reduced a little bit, and Annihillus and his asteroid got moved down. The blurb at the top has been completely relettered and boxed, too.
Lastly, here's Amazing Spider-Man #99 and the reprint in Marvel Tales #80. Note that Spidey's figure has been moved to the right, and that the blurb has been relettered and moved. Looks like the overall image has been enlarged, too.
