...which was completely unplanned, naturally. For some reason, last Friday, when I checked what was yet to post, I thought I had a week's worth of posts already scheduled, and so I spent my free time on Friday working on this:
See, there's a tradition that we started a few years ago... my wife, Jessi, has a blank book, and on her birthday and Mother's Day, she asks each of us to add a drawing of our family in her book instead of getting cards (she gets cards anyway). Well, this year, she asked if I would do a drawing that could be framed and hung up in the house instead of just in the book.
In the past, I've done drawings of our family as superheroes, rock and roll performers, and Star Wars characters, so this year, I wanted to do something different, and this was it: Flintstone-ized versions of us. That's me as Fred, my wife Jessi as an altered Wilma, son Tristan as a taller version of the paperboy (I forget his name now) holding our foster daughter as Pebbles, our foster son Austin as Barney, and lastly, daughter Desi as a heavily reworked version of the teenage Pebbles (since Desi is only 8). I created a Bedrock version of our house for the background, and added another row of seats to the Flintmobile, as well.
Anyway, I spent all last Friday morning working on this, and then uploading the picture to Walmart Photo to get an 8x10 as well as a 4x5 print made, so the larger one could be framed, while the smaller one could be glued into the book.
Next week, hopefully things will get back to normal here!
