Comic Reading Library: Tales from The Twilight Zone!

comicreading library
Been a while since I did a "Comic Reading Library" post, so I figured it's high time I did! This time around, it's a selection of stories from Gold Key's Twilight Zone comic book!
Our first tale comes from issue #80, and it's the cover story, "Poacher's Dream!"

Kirby Kovers: 2001, In Love, Sgt. Fury, Captain Victory, and More!

Time for another installment of Kirby Kovers!
Our first item is 2001: A Space Odyssey #9, introducing Mister Machine, who would shortly be renamed Machine Man, and go on to live beyond this comic title and join the Marvel Universe! I wonder what the current origin for him is supposed to be?

Sci-Fi Pulp Cover Gallery!

Time for another gallery of vintage sci-fi covers!
The first one this time around is from Other Worlds Science Stories, May 1951. As you can see, there's a giant orange frog carrying a blonde naked woman in a tube... nothing unusual about that, is there? Note the Silver Age Atom's namesake wrote the story the cover is based on.

Cool Stuff: More Marvel-Ous Merchandise!

Time for another installment of "Cool Stuff," featuring photos of collectibles I think will interest my readers. These are all saved from eBay auctions of the past, but there's always a possibility someone's offering them now! Today's installment looks to be at least mostly Marvel items.
First up is this generically-packaged puffy stickers featuring Marvel heroes! As you can see, there's the usual suspects here... Captain America, the Hulk, and Spider-Man (including one that someone's no doubt referred to as "exploding fart Spider-Man"), but what's interesting are some of the other choices... Hellcat, Hercules, the Black Widow, Shang-Chi, and the Valkyrie! I'd imagine that for some of them, this was only their second appearance on licensed product since the days of the Slurpee cups!

Time for another installment of "Government Comics," and this time around, it stars comic strip icon Mark Trail in "The Fight to Save America's Waters"!
