Yes, that's right, today marked the arrival of a new member of the family, joining myself, Jessi, Krypto and KO the boxers, and Swimmy the beta fish: Mickey the Grey Cockatiel!
Mickey was offered up by a local family who got him to breed with their female cockatiels, but he didn't get along with them. Well, that, plus their grandchildren are staying with them and kept putting their fingers in the cage, and Mickey's not used to being handled, so he'd bite.
Mickey's first day here was interesting... the dogs were completely absorbed by him, and he kept whistling at them, too, so it appears he was interested in them, too. We're hoping to "rehabilitate" him so he's more affectionate (he loves attention, just doesn't want to be held or even touched so far).
