Mid-week update...

Thanks to Blogger experiencing one of its recurring slowdowns, I wasn't able to post this last night... not that I had much to post!

On Monday, that parks and rec brochure which has been so freaking stressful was finally finished... about as close to the last second as it could possibly get. Now I have about two and a half months until the next one... which will be shortly after the wedding, if I have it figured right.

Work is getting a bit bizarre lately... Tuesday night is usually a night where things get wrapped up rather early, so I can either help out in other areas, or go home early... but thanks to an abundance of last-minute changes being made between 3 and 5 (5 is the deadline for completing stuff for the next day's paper -- at least, it's supposed to be), I wasn't able to do much of anything else but make changes to ads, as well as create last-minute things (which there was a lot of). As it turned out, there ended up being a fair amount of new stuff to work on afterwards, plus a flyer for the circulation department, which kept me busy until 7, so I wasn't able to help prepare billing yesterday at all.

In other news... I changed the archiving of the blog to weekly, and hopefully that'll speed things up here. It had been done monthly, but all those videos I'd posted slowed things down a lot. We'll see if it helps any.

This weekend is, of course, Free Comic Book Day, and I hope both of you who read this will be able to participate in it in some way. You've probably heard that TwoMorrows is doing something with this, themselves... you can go to their website on Saturday and order one issue from a selection absolutely free, and that includes shipping! It's a good deal, and if there's a mag of theirs you haven't tried yet, this is a great way to do so.

Watched House live last night -- it's a two-parter, concluding tonight -- and I can hardly wait to see what happens. Usually, we don't end up watching the new eps until Friday at the earliest!

Finished watching Godzilla Vs. Gigan yesterday... and also watched last Saturday's Justice League Unlimited episode (both enjoyable). Still have two or three other G-movies to watch on the DVR, plus three of the original Planet of the Apes movies (which I apologize for not mentioning in advance here), some Red Dwarf eps, some eps of My Hero (on BBC America), and a few Are You Being Served eps, too... where will I find the time?

No Videos Today...

...or, for that matter, for several more days. Sheesh, I didn't realize how much it slowed down loading of the blog (even with a high-speed connection) just to read the blog, much less play a video!

So after a few days, I'll maybe post one video a week or thereabouts.

Aside from that, it was a fairly decent weekend. Here's the highlights:

• Both Jessi and I had a weight loss this past week! Hurray!

• Went down to the Artswalk, planned to check out this year's Procession of the Species, but it was too rainy and cold while we were there, so we headed for home.

• Went to a co-worker's birthday party, and found that Jessi knew the person whose house it was being held at! Small world, eh?

• Checked out a possible band for the wedding... but we're not sure about them. By the way... when describing a band as being an "oldies" band, "oldies" should not mean 1980s, okay?

• Bought some flowers for the decorative garden in the back of the house, and planted them.

• Started watching "Godzilla vs. Gigan" earlier today while Jessi took a nap... I'd forgotten the most commonly-shown version has the male lead calling the female lead a "bitch"! Quite a surprise for a G movie of that era.

• Worked on more Cover Stories columns today, and hopefully I'll hear back from Michael Ambrose soon with his feedback on the next new batch of "Comics They Never Made," as he's my Charlton guru.
