Monday Night....

So... what's going on?

The last of my eBay listings closed today... and three more items sold... three volumes of Jack Kirby Fourth World books, which I have to admit, I was kind of hoping wouldn't sell... but so it goes.

Too bad those books couldn't fit into a single Showcase Presents volume... I think there's no enough for even two volumes... well, maybe if the Jimmy Olsen stories were put in 'em... but I don't think DC will be doing that any time soon.

I'm still trying to decide if it'd be worth relisting what didn't sell... if I do, it'll probably be later in the week...

Did anyone else watch the series finale of Justice League Unlimited? I finally watched it this morning, and it ROCKED! I especially enjoyed at the end, when the Leaguers were running out of the Watchtower... or was it the Metro Tower?... anyway, the characters were running out in groups... JSA members together, Justice League Detroit members together, Justice League International members together, and then, finally, the 1970s/Satellite era JLA'ers together, with the Big Three last (well, Batman was the last one you see).

OK, I should admit... there were a few things I was kind of hoping for, but didn't get in this episode... and I can't say I'm really disappointed... I mean, I didn't expect it... but there were a few characters I would've liked to have seen make a final appearance again... like Captain Marvel, for example. It would've also been cool if we could've seen the Titans (heck, Speedy made it in one episode, he could've been teamed with Nightwing and other grown-up versions of the Teen Titans), and maybe even a quick cameo appearance by Krypto, Streaky and Ace (hey, they're in continuity... I mean, Superman, Lex Luthor and Lois Lane look more or less exactly the same on Krypto's show as they do in the other DCAU).

It was also very nice to see Perry, Jimmy and Lois make a brief appearance... it would've been nice if we could've had a brief appearance by some of the Gotham crowd, like Gordon, Montoya, and so forth... and where was Metropolis' SCU?

OK, the only way they could've fit more into this episode, and made everybody happy, would've been if it had been an hour-long finale...

I'm still holding out hope that we might see a direct-to-DVD JLU movie or something... or maybe Cartoon Network will realize that they've just tossed out the best animated series based on comics ever (well, of this century, anyway).

Anyway...

...finally got my last freelance check from BCI Eclipse... I don't know what took so long, but there you go. At least I can pay the rest of the rental fee for where the wedding will be, finally!

I managed to get through the entire day without thinking, "Cripes, I should be nominated for employee of the month for this" even once... it helped that nobody told me, "They don't pay you enough" so far this week (last week, two different people said that to me! I mean, I definitely appreciate the sentiment, but sheesh)...

Weekend Wrap-Up!

First of all, if you haven't done so all ready, this week is my 52nd segment of
Cover Stories at World Famous Comics -- this weeks' theme is "I Object!" which features, naturally, courtroom covers!

Next week, it's the first anniversary installment!

Today, of course, was Mother's Day, and Jessi and I headed north to Tacoma to spend the afternoon with my Mom and some of the rest of the family (dad's off in North Dakota until Tuesday visiting relatives... mom actually leaves for South Dakota Tuesday morning). We ended up doing pizza for dinner, although mom and I got some Chinese take-out from Safeway instead.

What I'd wanted to do was to find out how many of us were interested in Chinese for dinner, and get some from a real Chinese restaurant, and pizza for the rest of us... but apparently, Mom and I were the only ones who wanted any. Which is fine, of course!

Before arriving at the house, we stopped at a Big & Tall Men's clothing store to see if they had anything Jessi approved of for my attire for the wedding... and I was gratified to find that I can't really shop there anymore! True, I'm still 6 feet 6 inches tall, but I've lost so much weight that the vast majority of the clothes they sell would fit me like a circus tent!

After that, we stopped at REI, because Jessi had ordered something from them, which she thought was going to be there on Friday... turns out it won't be there until this coming Friday!

Then we went to Penney's, and there we found a shirt that Jessi liked me in... so that's one article of clothing taken care of!

In other news... Saturday, Jessi and I, with our friend Amanda, went for a bike ride... this one was 17 miles, two miles longer than the last one! After that, I had to get the lawn mowed.

As I write this, my eBay listings will start closing in an hour or so... and there's still only one sale so far. I did get a couple of offers for a few items, but they were way, way too low for me to consider.

That's about it for now!
