batman_ahiparabatman

Next up is this AHI Batman parachutist! I used to have one of these when I was a kid, and it worked GREAT! I think I played with it so much, I eventually had to replace the parachute by cutting out a plastic garbage bag in a circle and tying the strings to it!

batman_ahiparajoker
batman_ahiparapenguin

Never had the Joker and Penguin ones, on the other hand!

batman_ahisaucergun

Here's another AHI item... Batman Saucer Gun!

batman_ahishootinggallery

Batman Shooting Gallery by AHI! Have I mentioned before that I don't understand why there's so many Batman gun toys out there, given the Dark Knight's aversion to guns.

batman_balloons

And we'll end this set of Batman stuff with these vintage Batman Balloons!

More Batman to come!

Movie of the Week: Tarantula

By the 10's: All-American Comics!

allamerican010

Issue 10 - an issue you'll see twice this month!

allamerican020

All-American 20, and by this point, the book is definitely getting interesting, with Alan Scott, the Original Green Lantern! Interesting that he's not using the ring on the cover, though...

allamerican030

All-American 30... and what the heck is Alan doing with his ring, giving that guy a hot-face???

allamerican040.jpg

All-American 40... sometimes I think the cover artists weren't taking the feature seriously... I mean, an idol that looks like Woozy? That's so... so... Adventures of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, y'know?

allamerican050.jpg

Issue 50, and that's a pretty dramatic cover, isn't it???

allamerican060.jpg

Issue 60!

allamerican070.jpg

Issue 70!

allamerican080.jpg

Issue 80's cover is just plain weird, isn't it?

allamerican090.jpg

Issue 90's cover features the first appearance of the Icicle, perhaps Alan Scott's first real nemesis (at least, the first real nemesis who showed up in this By the 10s)!

allamerican100

Issue 100, and change is in the wind... while Green Lantern's mentioned on the cover, new western hero Johnny Thunder gets the featured spot!

allamerican110

And here we are at issue 110, by which time the title became All-American Western... super-heroes were out, westerns were in!

allamerican120.jpg

Issue 120!

And the book only lasted another 6 issues!
