By the 10's: Spectacular Spider-Man!

Here's another title I'm surprised I hadn't covered yet!

ppss010.jpg

Here's issue 10's cover -- you'll notice this series didn't go through too many changes in its run!

Issue 20!

And issue 100 wraps this one up! Yes, this title's By the 10's extends a bit beyond the usual eras I cover here, but so what?

Children's Book Theatre: Huckleberry Hound Coloring Book, Part 1!

So we're up to another coloring book, and this one has more of a plot than the Lidsville one did, that's for certain!

huck_001
huck_002

As you can see from the title page, the book was published by Whitman in 1960, and features art by John Carey and Bill Edwards. The basic plot of this book covers Huckleberry Hound and his friends, Yogi Bear and Pixie & Dixie, as they make their way through various careers. This coloring book featured perforated pages for easy removal, and a few pages are indeed missing from my copy!

huck_003

As the coloring book begins, Huck's just found employment as a soda jerk!

I have no idea who this Indian kid is, although I think his name is mentioned later on!

huck_007

And with the arrival of Pixie and Dixie, we get to our first missing pages... two missing pages later, Huck has a new job... and you'll see what that job is, next time!

Cool Stuff: Marvel Stuff!

Yes, it's time for More Marvel Merchandise, and it's probably all stuff I'd love to have for my birthday, which comes in just four days!

msh_puzzle

I used to have this 1980s-era Marvel Superheroes puzzle, and I loved it! I used to challenge myself by seeing how fast I could assemble it without benefit of looking at the box art!

msh_span_doom.JPG msh_span_surfer.JPG msh_span_thor.JPG

I believe these PVC figures were all made by Comics Spain, and I used to have a fairly large collection of them!

msh_spiderwomanring.JPG

Yep, it's another one of those rings!

msh_spideyhulk_showtime.JPG

I kind of dig this Spider-Man and Hulk Showtime toy... a self-enclosed coloring book, if you will!

msh_stampalbum.jpg

I don't believe I ever had the album for these stamps, although at one point I had a fair number of the individual stamp kits! If only I'd saved them, what blog fodder would they be!

msh_subby_8mm.jpg

Here's the Sub-Mariner Super 8mm home movie box! Pretty much all of the Marvel Superheroes cartoons of the 1960s had one of these releases in the 1970s... the Grantray-Lawrence Spidey series had several!

msh_super8filmmakermag.jpg

I'm not sure if this Spidey-featured Super 8 Filmmaker Magazine issue would be worth having or not, but it was too cool not to save the photo for sharing!

msh_superherostickers.jpg

I believe I've posted the stickers that came in this packaging before...

Been a while since I posted photos of Secret Wars merchandise, hasn't it? Time to rectify that:

msh_sw_decoder.jpg

msh_sw_walkietalkies.JPG

I think I've shown these walkie talkies before, not realizing they were Secret Wars merch!

msh_thor84patch

That's a pretty nice-looking Thor patch from 1984, isn't it?

msh_thor_8mm.jpg

And speaking of Thor, here's his Super 8mm home movie box!

Next time around, Cool Stuff will look at a few more M items, probably mostly movie-related stuff!
