Cover Redux BONUS!
Yep, friends, it's time for a bonus edition of Cover Redux!

This bonus edition starts with Fantastic Four #63 and the reprint in Marvel's Greatest Comics #46. Looks to me like the art was reduced for the reprint, and possibly some extra art added on the left-hand side. Some detail was lost in the statting.

The Lord of the Living Lightning and some of his men take over Ross'

Roy Thomas, never one to let

his run on Avengers West Coast, having the son of one of the LL
members finding it and getting superpowers from the equipment still
there.

Dog of the Geek: Space Canine Patrol Agents!
Original Appearances: Superboy
#131
Other Appearances: A few other
Superboy issues; post-Crisis, they appeared in an issue of Animal
Man; a different version
appeared in the Krypto the Super-Dog cartoon
(see miscellaneous). Several of the animated agents were also sold as
action figures.
Biography: In deep space, Krypto
is exploring when he finds what he first thinks is a giant balloon,
but turns out to be Mammoth Mutt. When Mammoth Mutt is mortally
injured, he tells Krypto about the Space Canine Patrol Agents, which
he is a member of, and asks Krypto to avenge his death by capturing
the Canine Caper Gang, a group of interstellar dog crooks who were
responsible for his death. Krypto succeeds in capturing the gang, but
not before he's temporarily captured and put in a cell with other
captured SCPA members. Krypto succeeds in breaking them out of jail
and the gang is captured. Later, Krypto is inducted into the SCPA.
Powers: Each member had a unique
power, like the Legion of Super-Heroes. Tail Terrier has an elastic
tail; Mammoth Mutt can inflate to many times his size; Hot Dog is
pyrokinetic; Tusky Husky can turn one of his canine teeth into a
tusk; Bull Dog can grow horns; Paw Pooch can grow extra limbs;
Chameleon Collie is a shapeshifter; Prophetic Pup is clairvoyant;
Mammoth Miss (Mammoth Mutt's girlfriend) can also inflate; Beam
Beagle possesses “Searchlight Eyes.”
Group Affiliation: They're their
own group, with the motto, “Big dog, big dog, bow wow wow, we'll
fight evil, now, now, now!”
Miscellaneous: The
SCPA members who appeared in that issue of Animal
Man
were shown as being in comic book limbo, having been written out of
continuity. In the 2000 Krypto
the Superdog
animated series, the SCPA was introduced as the Dog Star Patrol, and
included Tail Terrier, Mammoth Mutt, Hot Dog, Tusky Husky, Bull Dog,
Paw Pooch, and new members Drooly and leader Brainy Barker (with
psychic abilities). In the cartoon, Streaky the Supercat and Ace the
Bathound were also made members.

Cool Stuff!
Cover Redux!
Time once again to look at original Marvel covers and the reprinted version! Here we have Avengers #21 and the reprint in Marvel Triple Action #15... The art's been shifted down, with Power Man's boot over the bottom blurb, and the title blurb's been moved as well... and it looks like some background was added, too! In fact, I see the image has been shifted to the right a bit, too!

Dog of the Geek: Lockjaw!
Original Appearances: Fantastic
Four #45
Other Appearances: Many other
Marvel comics, most recently those with the Pet Avengers
Biography: Lockjaw was born on
the island of Attilan, formerly in the Atlantic Ocean. His primary
role is as Crystal's pet as well as teleporter for the Inhuman royal
family. When the Royal Family was exiled from the Great Refuge as a
result of Maximus the Mad's creation of the Trikon, he joined them.
Later, the Inhuman royal family encountered the Fantastic Four, who
were harboring the amnesiac Medusa. Later, the Fantastic Four helped
the Royal Family return to Attilan, although shortly afterwards, the
Great Refuge was sealed off from the rest of the world by Maximus'
Negative Zone barrier (not to be confused with the Negative Zone
alternative universe Reed Richards discovered). Only Lockjaw could
penetrate the barrier, and eventually he came across the Human Torch
and Wyatt Wingfoot. Eventually, the barrier was breached. Some years
later, Lockjaw and Crystal were captured by Diablo, and they later
rescued the injured Quicksilver. Quicksilver and Crystal fell in love
and were married. Years after this, when Quicksilver and the Thing
witnessed Lockjaw speaking to them, revealing that he was a sentient
being once mutated by the Terrigen Mists, which convinces Quicksilver
not to expose his daughter Luna to the Mists. Later, it was revealed
this was a hoax perpetuated by Karnak and Gorgon. Lockjaw went on to
have other adventures with the Inhumans as well as with the Thing,
even traveling to the Heroes Reborn universe for one year. When
Lockjaw helped the Royal Family rescue Black Bolt from the Skrulls,
his abilities get upgraded by the Kree, allowing him to teleport
father. Since then, he has been a member of the Pet Avengers.
Powers: Lockjaw possesses
super-canine strength in his jaws, even for his size. He has the
ability to telport himself and anyone and anything nearby him
anywhere he wants, such as from the Earth to the Moon or even between
dimensions. Barriers that appear impenetrable to others are no
problem for Lockjaw. He also has the ability to track a “scent”
across dimensional space, and can apparently sense danger from far
off. He is able to chew and swallow inorganic material with no ill
effect.
Group Affiliation: Inhumans
Miscellaneous: Other
versions of Lockjaw appear in Earth
X, Marvel Knights 2099, and
Ultimate Fantastic
Four,
all with variations on the original. He appears to be the only “pet”
in the Inhumans society... which begs the question, is he really a
pet at all? I always liked the reveal that John Byrne came up with
that he wasn't really a dog, but an Inhuman who had been exposed to
the Terrigen Mists... regardless of what someone else came up with
later on.
